Mar 26, 2019 Stop DVD drive from spinning Hi, This is probably a stupid question, and it's definitely just a minor whine, but here goes anyway. When my PC boots, if there's a DVD in the drive it spins it up regardless of whether it's being actively read. As my DVD drive is a tad noisy, this can be annoying, especially as my PC keeps the drive spinning for.

Hello Toby,
I recognize that when your Computer boots upward, if there is definitely a Dvd and blu-ray in the DVD drive, it spins. Your question can be to know how to turn off the Dvd and blu-ray drive at the time of reboot.
I would including to notify you that when the personal computer reboots it bank checks all the equipment, to assure that it will be functioning or not. Therefore, when your personal computer restarts it bank checks the Dvd and blu-ray drive which can make sound.
It is recommended to perform not enter the bootable Dvd movie or Compact disc in the drive at the time of reboot. You can consider out the Dvd and blu-ray and after that shut down the computer, so that the following time when program reboots there should not really be a Dvd movie in the drive.
I would furthermore including to notify you that you can turn off DVD drive from spinning from BIOS, nevertheless it can be not recommended.
